Aug. 1909 cover from GB to 'J. I. Sarjent, HMS Diana, c/o GPO London' with many re-diections and back to GB after 2 1/2 months on 'SS Sicilia'. On patrol & not found. Redirected to HMS Leviathan & then to 'HMS Egmont, Malta'. mss.. "This Man left Leviathan for HMS Diana, Medditeranean". Also with with CAMPBELTOWN transit p/m. & d/r LONDON 174 p/m. used on Naval mails. SOMALILAND - 1908-10. HMS DIANA. Ships of the Mediterranean Fleet were employed in the Blockade of the Somali Coast in connection with the operations. The Bar was granted to all who took part in the patrolling, or at Aden between 19 Aug. 1908 and 31 Ja. 1910. Sargent, J.I Ord. SS2389 awarded Africa General Service medal.
