No. 513 POW PC - Germany to China via Burma SOLD
MARTINIQUE - WW2   MARTINIQUE (cover) - WW2   1916 'Daily Mail Parcel' receipt PC from POW in GERMANY to Swatow, CHINA with DULMEN censor h/s. Redirected with s/r. TENG YUEH p/m. & d/r. RANGOON transit p/m. Endorsed 'Via Bhumo'. Creased.

A much travelled card , initially to Swatow (via HONG KONG) but redirected to 'Teng Yueh' . As no internal postal service existed in mainland CHINA , this card was forwarded to RANGOON, and from there , by pack mule, to BHAMO, in BURMA from whence it crossed the frontier into CHINA for onward transmission by NATIVE RUNNER to TENG YUEH, a journey taking many months.

All mail destined for Chinese towns in Yunnan province entered the Country via Bhamo.
